Laughing Sunrise is an independent design studio run by Artemis Hatfield, a designer & artist from the UK, currently based in Southampton.
Artemis’ areas of expertise include branding, publication, and poster design, but they’re always up for exploring other types of projects and have connections with a network of other creatives for if any part of a project needs an extra set of skills brought in. This could include product/editorial photography, illustration, VFX, animation, and more.

Branding & Publication Design
Carnations, Violets & Lavender is an LGBTQ+ art zine by Delos Publishing. As well as curating the zine, Artemis does the publication design for every issue.
For a zine, CV&L is very structured and organised. The clean design helps highlight the artists’ work within the zine, rather than tearing focus away onto the design. That being said, the vibrant green taken from Oscar Wilde’s famous green carnations brings a consistent pop of colour to the zine series, especially when accented by purple hues reminiscent of Sappho’s violets and lavender, due to it’s importance in more recent queer history.
